Frosty the Snowman
12/06/2008, Tides Inn, Irvington, VA

Testing out the lights before the parade. The worst part was not tripping over any of the extension cords while underway!! The snowmen were 9 ft tall and we maxed out the generator with about 2500 lights.

Irvington Boat Parade
12/06/2008

Well as you may have gathered we didn't go south this winter. Too many things happened over the last few months for us to get organized. So, with the boat finally back in the water, we decided to have a bit of winter fun and enter the local Christmas light parade. Here is Charm all dolled up with snowmen and a tree. The crew wore white Tyvek suits and fueled by hot rum and cider danced for a solid hour to "Frosty the Snowman" as we did the parade loop. It was a blast.

Stepping the Mast
10/10/2008

At long last Charm returned to her rightful place in the water and regained her mast. Stepping the mast was a bit scary for the observer (me) and even more scary as the mast dangled in the air and passersby, like our good dentist Dr Bob, were pressed into service in grabbing a wayward line. However, all went well and the mast slid into place with no damage to persons, fresh paint job on the mast, or boat. This scene shows the final stages of guiding the mast into place. One of the yard personnel got to be the lucky guy down in the cabin making sure that it went into the proper spot with no pinched wires (or fingers).
