On The Mat

A new and fatiguing experience....yoga. Amy owns The Springs Spa here in Williamstown and is quiet the yoga enthusiast to say the least. So for the past two days I have been finding my chi in two morning sessions. Now before all the dudes out there start yuckin it up about what a none manly activity yoga is......think again. The concentration and the burn is pretty extreme. I was shocked. But I really enjoyed the workout. I have not been running since I was at my sisters due to shine splints and think maybe the yoga will help.
So my first session was an hour and half long in a room that had been heated up to almost a hundred degree's. Sweat was pouring out of my body as I concentrated on watching the instructor, learning the terminology and not crumpling to the floor in big heap. It is not easy in the least. Balance and strength and a limber body certainly helps. Afterward I felt light as a feather but exhausted. It's a good thing the guest house I'm staying in has a hot tub!
Today I thought I would take a day off from my first session. No joy. Amy rings me up early and says the best way to re-engage the muscles is to dive right in for another yoga session. So day two brought an even more difficult work-out with different positions. I really struggled. Apparently I have been scheduled for yoga training this entire week. We shall see.
Looking toward this weekend. Looks like my bud John has secured a cabin on a lake in northern Vermont about 3 miles south of the Canadian border. So a bunch of us are laying some ground work for a great weekend in the wilderness.
