Touring PR

17 April 2012 | Fajardo
Lisa
We have been anchored off Fajardo, PR since we came over last Thursday. We met up with SV Gaiamar (Gail and Barry) and went out to dinner with them. It was fun to get the scoop on the area. We decided to rent a car for provisioning, touring and for picking up Scott at the airport. We got a little white roller skate with only 1 windshield wiper for $31 per day - sweet!
Friday we drove all over checking things out and making a first pass at picking up non-perishable items.
Saturday we decided to head to El Yunque National Park. This is a beautiful rain forest park. The only one is its kind in the US National Forests- you could spend days there! We went to the visitor center and they have a map of a driving tour through the park. We had been dodging the rain and managed to see most of it dry. We took a hike through the forest and it poured on us before we were done. What's a rain forest without rain?? it was awesome.
