With mixed feelings we left Nassau on Tuesday about 1:00. The first day and 1/2 we motored almost all the time with light winds. Plus, we had a lot of rain. Last night on my watch at about 2:30 a.m. we could see stars in the sky and the wind was finally up to sailing levels (12-14 knts). So, we hauled all the canvas up and off we went. We are in the Gulf Stream now and we are seeing 8-10 knots over the ground on the GPS. We did 199 miles in the last 24 hours!!!!! Now that it's dry and sunny, it's turned in to a great sailing day. We are only about 150 miles off shore of Florida - kinda strange to be that close to the U.S. We expect to be in NY about the 27th or 28th. Yippee!!!!
