Becky/Sunny and cold
Leaving Boise on Friday was nice since it was snowing and had been very cold. We arrived in Tucson and Kari met us. But this time we didn’t get to have our Sonoran hotdogs. Kelly had broke his IPad and had to get it replaced before we went to Mexico. The Boise Apple Store didn’t have one so we had to take a detour and Kari was nice enough to drive us to the Apple store in Tucson. We also got to see Kari’s son Eric. He’s growing up too fast. After another nice visit Kari and Eric then took us to the Tufesa bus station where we got on the 1:00 a.m. Execuivo bus.
We arrived in Guayams around 7:30 a.m. and grabbed a Taxi to the dry storage. Our boat was waiting for us in the work area. We had scheduled the launch for 11:00 a.m. but at 9:30 we heard the tractor and the bump as they were hooking up the boat. So off we went to launch the boat.
Ok we are in Mexico right? Well the temperatures aren't as we expected them to be. It's in the 60's during the day and down in the 40's at night. Good thing we have a good furnace on board. It's cranked at night and we cuddle under our warm blankets. Hopefully next week it will be back in the 70s and 80s. We can hope right?
We were given a slip on C dock and have been here now for 3 nights. The winds are supposed to be pretty strong today so this will delay our departure to Baja until Thursday. We have been having fun in San Carlos.
We met a really nice couple from AZ. They invited us to lunch on Sunday at their favorite restaurant La Manga Restaurant at a nearby fishing village. The views were amazing and it had been very windy and we were out of the wind, which made it nice and warm. Bill gave us some oranges from his beautiful garden. They were so good. We also got 2 beets. Not my favorite vegetable but we may find some way to make them taste good.
On Monday we decided to hike to the top of Tatakawi Mountain, which is the beautiful mountain that are in pictures taken of the marina. It was quite a hike to the top and not an easy one as I am feeling it today. But the views from the top were spectacular.
