Motored in a pond from Freiles, then turned south and met 25 knot winds from SW and the proverbial confused seas. In the usual chaos involved near a big cape, a whale played high in the air again and again. Our varying weather sources had reported a gale off CA and northern Baja coast, initially not to extend significantly to our location. Right after we left the cruisers' SSB radio weather guru said it would come further south by Tuesday. Our routing guys say yes to some extent, but manageable. Steep learning curve, crew armed with Relief Band zappers, Hannah strong as a horse. Water royal blue, Southern Cross just over the starboard spreader at night.
