Log of Harlequinn, a Lagoon 380 S2 Catamaran
The Nature Island

Motored out of St. Pierre in the morning calm, followed by a beautiful sail in calm seas and slowly clearing skies to Roseau, the capital of Dominica. All that in time for lunch at 12:30! A beaked whale of some sort rolled slowly by, tropic birds plunged, straight down into the sea chasing the tiny flying fish that were showing off their aviation skills, apparently a bit better than the tropic birds aquatic skills, as they always popped back out of the wate rquite ruffled.

Post Pele

We sailed in beneath gray skies and grayer seas, Pele's lush green sugar cane fields enjoying the moisture as they tucked in behind the picturesque town, not quite cleaned up yet after the erruption in 1902. That's what I call Caribbean time! An entire population wiped out in a single blow, unbelieveable, or so they thought. Check the history yourself, an amazing story.

Bon Jour
04/12/2011, 14 26'N:60 53'W, St. Anne's, Martinique

We're back in St. Anne's sipping wine and sitting out Seattle style rain. Actually feels good to curl up with a book. Our batteries feel good as well, after finally discovering that we had a line from our nano pulser ( don't ask) lead incorrectly. We are now less smug about what little energy we use, but a lot more accurate.
