It looks like we have a weather window, so we left Salinas harbor at 3:30 this afternoon for the staging area recommended by Bruce Van Sant - Boca De Infierno. We were anchored before 5:30pm. The wind should drop sometime past midnight and we'll haul anchor and head out again. We're close to the east end or Puerto Rico (about 20-25 miles). Once we get past the SE point, we'll turn NE for Vieques or maybe Culebra - depending upon the wind as we should be able to sail that leg of the trip. There is another bioluminescent bay on the south side of Vieques that we would like to visit. Both islands should have sparkling clear waters for snorkeling and reefs for maybe spearing some fish of finding a lobster. The plan is to spend 2 or 3 days in these islands before heading to the US Virgin Islands (St Johns especially).
The lighthouse is at Punta Tuna - the very SE "corner" of Puerto Rico
