We sailed back to St. Lucia to pick up Brad. We checked in on Friday at customs before they closed. Customs was $20 US for us. The customs people told Gary to bring Windy to the Marina the next day to be checked in by a vet. Since she was not legal we did not take her to shore on Friday night. Gary went in at 9 am on Saturday and was told that Windy should not even be on shore until she was checked by a vet on the boat. They gave Gary a telephone number and he made an appointment to pick up a vet at noon. The vet came out to the boat and charged us $150 US to do a 5 minute health check. Windy can now go to shore legally.
I got a case of acid reflux (and maybe a cold) and stayed on the boat for 4 days without going to shore.
Brad came in on Sunday on Monday we went to a shopping mall for groceries. We then went to Pigeon Island Park. Pigeon Island was the main base for the British Navy when they were here. There are the remains of a fort and cannons along with some of the support buildings. The view from the top of both peaks is great. I hiked to the top of the shorter one. Gary went to the top of both. You can see Martinique from there.
On Tuesday we took a taxi to Soufriere. The drive was about 2 hours with lots of beautiful views. We passed the Pitons and Gary took pictures. Soufriere has a drive in volcano. It is dormant. There are hot sulfur springs and sulfuric mud. The mud is supposed to have curing properties. One is to coat yourself in mud and let it dry then soak in the hot springs. Gary of course coated himself in mud. There should be a picture. I declined.
The island is beautiful we enjoyed the ride to and from the volcano too.
Today I am going to the women's luncheon at Bay Gardens Resort in Rodney Bay.
