In Dominica

We are in Dominica. We got here on Tuesday and had a Veterenarian check Windy - she is now legal in the country. We also did some grocery shopping.
Martin, from Providence Tour Guides, came to our boat on Thursday and said that we could go on a snorkeling trip in the afternoon with some other cruisers. It was very enjoyable. Friday we went on an island tour with Paul, from Providence. He took us to a cold sulfur springs, an organic farm (where this man climbed a palm tree to get green cocoanuts), and Red Rock (a thousand year old remains of a volcanic eruption). We also had lunch on the beach overlooking one of the locations for the filming of Pirates of the Carribean. We got to see the national bird of Dominica in the wild. It is the Sisserou Parrot.
On Saturday there was a PAYS Barbeque. The PAYS group are the boat men that help out the cruisers. We were able to see many cruisers that we have met elsewhere in the islands.
Sunday was the first parade of Carnival. It is amazing how creative the costume were.
On Monday, since we have good internet here, I had some great news from Florida. Frani, my sister, and her dog, Bounce, got a TDX (Tracking Dog Excellent) title. The TDX becomes part of her name which is now Goldruls Wild Ride TDX. This title represents years of work as a team.
Dominica is one of our favorite islands. They really protect the environment here.
The picture is Portsmouth as we entered Prince Rupert Bay.
