While we're still in Martinique, I'm trying to catch up on pictures and activities from our prior island adventures. As many folks have asked about living on the boat and shopping, etc. I took this "photo essay" of a trip to the Portsmouth Produce Market. The market operates every Saturday, opening around 9 AM.
The picture above is of our dinghy (car) ready to load up. Once we start off, here's a view towards the town dock where we're headed.
And here here's the dinghy tied up at the dock.
Climbing out of the dinghy, we head down the town dock for the Produce Market. You can see the market stalls beyond the fence.
Coming through the fence, here's the market. That's Margi checking out one seller's wares.
From the far end of the street - here's a shot looking back towards the dock.
And another shot of the market along the cross-street (it spreads out to cover about 4 city blocks along the streets).
Finally, done with our shopping we stop at a delightful little bakery for some fresh-baked treats and something cold to drink
Finally, on our way back to the dinghy, we see a not uncommon sight....
A mother hen & chick out for breakfast.
