This morning I was going downtown and caught a bus at the bus stop near Prickly Bay, Grenada. The #1 bus does the route to St. George’s from near Prickly Bay. There were 2 other people that got on the bus at the same time as me. The conductor rushed us to get on, all the while looking back behind the bus. There was another #1 bus behind us and our driver did not want the other bus to pass him. All the way to St. George’s the our bus driver was trying to stay ahead of the white bus behind us. The white bus kept honking and trying to pass. When our bus stopped to let people on or off the white bus passed us. Then when the white bus stopped, our bus passed him.
The bus that is in front is able to pick up more paying passengers. The bus costs 2.50 EC which is about 90 cents US. The drivers really work to fill their bus with as many people as possible. It was a wild ride to St. George’s. Usually it is not so competitive.
