The trials and sailing tales of Denny & Diane
400 boats

We have to make the Hog Cay Cut by mid tide or there will be very little water there. So we leave at 0700 hrs. It is "Allez Cat", "Feral Cat", and us. The wind is 10-15 and the seas are 4-5, following. It is a great sail and we make the cut at mid tide, so no problems.
Averaged 7 knots for the entire 42 miles. Pulled in to Kidd's Cove, WOW it's crowded!

03/02/2007, Water Cay

Rolly night last night, the wind picked up and the surge started sneeking around the reef.
But this morning we pull out and discover a small rage between Jamaica and the next cays, about 7 miles. The seas are 10-12 just behind the beam! The wind is at 15-20 out of the southeast. Needless to say it was an adrenlin boost. But what a ride, we were surfing down ito the troughs and then not be able to see over the next wave!!!!!!!!!!
We make it across into the next lee, but the winds have remained the same. So we sailed at about 8 knts all day. I do like the new sails, we have had to start the engine for refrig and power chareing!

Hog To Jamaica

Hog is nice but we have decided to start back to Georgetown. The plan is to head north wit a stop at Buena Vista for lunch and a swim then spend the night in Jamaica Cay. Then head for Water Cay, then head for Georgetown.
Buena has the prettiest beach we have ever seen. We anchor within 60ft from the beach. Diane is now been turned on to Sea Beans http://www.seabean.com/what.htm , so the hunt is on!
We have a very nice sail up to Jamaica, 10-15 out of the east southeast. With the new sails we have been able to make 65% of wind speed pretty well average!!!!!!!
