The trials and sailing tales of Denny & Diane
Dreaded Weather Windows
03/29/2009, Ft. Lauderdale

Well we have been swinging on this mooring ball now for a week waiting on a weather window!!!!! The seas have been in excess of 10 ft for a week. BUT tomorrow it looks like there is a small window. So we are doing a night crossing with a couple of other boats. The seas are finally laying down for a day, so off we go!!!!!!!!!!! The plan is to go south to Miami then turn east, that way we will have a better angle on the wind. Bimini here we come!!!!!!!

Cruising Kitty
03/21/2009, Ft. Lauderdale

Well it has been a month since we got here to Las Olas Mooring Field. And have been busy working on the farm! But enough is enough, all projects have been completed and we are now waiting on a weather window to make the crossing over to Bimini and points East. The plan is to putz around the Exumas then head up to Abacos for a month or so then head back to Charleston for hurricane season.
Right now the weather guys are saying there are 13-15 ft seas in the Gulfstream, with 20-25 knt winds until Thursday, so we are here until then!!!!!!!!!

Flashed
02/21/2009, SOuth Florida

2-21-09 26 37.621N: 80 01.437W

We have made it to West Palm Beach!!!!!!! We stopped in a marina in Vero which allowed us to buy some groceries and much needed nuts and bolts for the alternator. I also found a welder to repair the adjusting bracket. Having two engines again is SOOO nice. The first day with two engines we made over 70 miles, rather than the usual 50 we had been making since Savanna, major difference!!!!!!!!
I finally got to see a girl in a bathing suit, which also flashed me her boobs, I tried to convince Diane that was a standard Florida welcome, and I don't think she bought it.
So basically to some it up is we will be in Ft. Lauderdale tonight, and the two most exciting things to happen to us, was getting our alternator fixed, and being flashed!!!!
