Cueva de las Maravillas means "Cave of Wonders".
The cave is 25 m underground. She was discovered in 1926 and named then as "Cueva del Jagual" (based on the nearby village of Jagual). She was renamed 1949 Cueva de las Maravillas.
The cave has an internal footpath of 240 m and is equiped with special lights and ramps and modern elevator and side walks.
More than 500 preColumbian pictographs from the Tainos are still visible on the walls.
