After finishing the Starboard transmission yesterday, we tested it at the dock with good success, so after arranging with the marina a possible tow in should the sea trial not go as planned, we headed out of the marina with Paul of Angel Heart aboard as crew this morning.
We put Kokopelli's newly relocated engines and new transmissions thru their paces in the 'explosives anchorage' inside the Panama Canal breakwater. Ran them up hard in forward and reverse as well as 'milling around' at cruising RPM. All went well and things seem good to go.
After the engines cool down, we'll check motor mounts, re-check alignment, hose clamps, fluids, etc. and hopefully we will be in a position to go as soon as the boisterous winds and seas lay down a bit. We hope it will be by this weekend!
