Heading to Shelter Bay for a haul out

13 January 2013 | Panamarina
Liz
Tomorrow we head west to Shelter Bay Marina for a haul out for an insurance survey. While she's out of the water, we will give Kokopelli some fresh bottom paint. We hope to minimize our time there as life on the hard is just that...hard!
And, it cuts into our cruising season. Unfortunately, Shelter Bay is in the wrong direction of our planned cruising grounds of the San Blas, so we have all those miles to windward to make up!
We have been working our tails off to get Kokopelli ready to go. We have been installing new and repaired gear--wind generator, Watermaker, bilge alarms, inverter, battery charger, installed new headliner in a few places, etc. as well as "undoing" everything we do to lay her up for 6 months. But yesterday we'd finally cleared away enough parts to start the engines and today a trip up the mast to re-install the SSB antenna. The wind also died down enough to get the sails on, so we should be ready to go once I get the laundry finished.

Ah, the joys of cruising in paradise! At least it's warm!
