Into Texas!

Deming was unremarkable with a dusty plain campground, but good enough for an overnighter on Wed night(5th). The N M scenery is nice and we continue to have excellent weather. A beautiful rest stop above Las Cruces greeted us as we passed thru. Also crossing the continental divide provided a little spark.

El Paso was our next stop on Thur night (6th). Big place and you can see right across the Rio Grande into Juarez, only a few blocks away. Quite a contrast at the least. The highlight of the stop was a late lunch at a local Mexican restaurant with absolutely great food. We even took “home” a dozen homemade tamales that were wonderful. Had tamales for supper and again for breakfast on Thur.

Met another couple from E. Wa. there in El Paso (Lee & Jan from Mossy Rock). It was nice to trade stories on rigs/roads/etc.

Now it’s off across the high desert of West Texas. We continue to have good roads and good weather. Hope it all continues.
