Navy escort

03 March 2012
Our MVP crew Bill Bell has arrived, Liberte is fueled up and cleared out, and our weather window is open for 3 days in the notorious Gulf of Tehuantepec. Our first traffic sighted out of Huatulco is this Navy boat that hailed us in excellent English to give us a weather briefing, inquire after our plans, and ask if we'd seen a missing cruising vessel. They told us to hail them on VHF 16 if we needed assistance of any kind. They have a base in Salina Cruz.
