Voyages of Liberte
He just turned out a little short

Timing is everything, bro.

Stealth raid

Brother John and I launch into the lagoon at sunset, and point the bow wherever Sammy says.

Paddling the Barra Lagoon

Brother John always find the wildlife, and on this paddle just before nightfall, we saw a huge array of birds massing in the mangrove trees for the night: Herons, egrets, ibus, coromorants and pelicans, all pushing and shoving, honking and grunting and clacking in many voices and generally raising a ruckus.

An embarrassment of riches

Every night Mother Nature digs out the Crayola box and goes to work. Just when you think it just can't get any better, it does.

Alien creatures

Recently sighted on the beach at sunset, they are extremely tall and very hard to catch.

Long walks on the beach

Our nightly ritual in Tenecatita Bay is to paddle the kayaks ashore through the surf, then walk barefoot down a mile of wide open beach, rolling small coconuts like bowling balls for Sammy to chase down.
