Yep, we're finally gone. I am sure our friends at West River were wondering when, even if, that were going to happen. Well it did. We left last evening for the short hop to Tilghman on Chesapeake, one of our favorite places, where we will wait out today's gale and T-storm warnings. Early tomorrow morning we will head to Fishing Bay, ninety miles to the south.
We want to thank all of our friends and neighbors in West River for their help, patience and good cheer while we put the final touches on this venture. A special thanks to Cheryl for her herculean efforts getting our house ready to rent, Carole McC for the potato salad (had to mention it) and taking over as our mail forwarder, Barbara for her washing machine (Pokey says that is the one thing she really misses from home) and as our UPS delivery site for two months, Michele, well, for always being cheerful, optimistic Michele, Greg and Mo for being the best neighbors we've ever had and for taking on the sale of our car, and of course Francis and Linda Miko. As well as being special friends, Linda acted as our real estate agent and Francis has been at the very least my commiserator on all things fixit related on Prim. It is because of him we have such things as a deck wash system (Well, Francis has one, why shouldn't we?) I guess that works both ways - before we left the dock we heard that Linda now has hot water on Skye. We already miss all of you but take heart that you are all just a phone call or email away.
Thanks to Bill and Nancy Eggert on Fortunata for the beautiful photo of sunset at Chalk Point, West River with Prim on the "T".
