Our 'back yard'.

We moved onto the boat!!
Granted it is still NOT in the water but at least we can feel like we are getting closer to our goal. Thank God our friends Karen & Diane happened to be here and helped us move( it was much easier navigating 2 ladders with 4 people than 2). I even got some beach time in with them! Thanks for all your help ladies.
We still are washing dishes with the hose in the cockpit because our water tanks are full of oil outside the boat aka we need to replace them, and the stove is not arranged yet so we are cooking on the camp stove that was on the boat and the grill we found on the boat. The grill it turns out is brand spanking new and is not charcoal, like we had originally thought (charcoal is especially messy on a boat as you may imagine). There also was on board 4 butane tanks so we are all set with the grill and the stove. We've already made stakes and hamburgers. We buy ice every 5 days for the cooler and in the 7 first days of using it we are both thinking about adding a small refrigeration unit for the future. I can live without a freezer but refrigeration would be so much easier.
We still have a bunch of work to do but everyone tells us once you move on board you get more done, so far we have been nesting and finding that there are more morning chores like scooping the cat box. I did manage to put another coat of varnish on the small section of wall in our cabin - sleeping area. I just planned it so I did it first thing in the morning, closed the door so Hilo couldn't get cat fur all over it and Scott and I slept on the sette (dining like area) that night to give it time to dry and air out.
We even mostly missed the Mexico Easter/Spring Break called Semana Santa (Holy Week) town party because we were nesting. I did go out, for ice, once and it was CRAZY. The town gets over run with younger people cruising the streets while blaring loud music. The grocery stores even put out 6-foot tall speakers and blare music along with the many live bands that show up. Buildings that I thought were abandoned turned into huge party scenes too. We could hear the music just fine from our boat and were glad to miss the craziness - next year we'll be more up for partying.
All in all it is GREAT to finally have our own space again and hopefully get more work done. Hilo LOVES the boat, within 10 mins. he was testing out each sleeping spot for about 5 mins. each before going on the next. He even loves being outside in his 'tent', which we put him in to get him used to being an outdoor cat. Once the deck is done he'll be able to walk around more on it.
