is how long it took for me to 'join 'em', as in 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em', as in now I am just as busy as everyone else (that isn't retired), as in back to 'regular life' of 'working'. ANd I don't even have kids! So much for trying to be an artist again. The only time I go into my studio is to clean the cat boxes or file some bill we just got. My easel is still folded up laying on the floor where the cats knocked it over a month ago, the new oil paints I bought are still snugly wrapped up in their original packaging and my 1/2 printed out, post-it ridden book (I started writing) is just collecting cat litter dust. Though I am happy to be employed especially with the way things are going lately and Scott says it takes some of the pressure off of him.
I read somewhere that having a talent and not being able to use it is frustrating, as I agree with. To bad we have to eat, pay electric bills and buy clothes.
We did spend 1/2 a day at Ojo Caliente, the nearest mineral hot springs, and it was GREAT but I think it made me crave a full on vacation - glad I got over THAT!
