I'm almost gone! I leave on a flight Tuesday morning down to Cabo where I'll meet up with Scott and enjoy a few days acclimating at the timeshare. From there we'll take the bus back to the boat in La Paz.

Scott has had our friend Bob onboard Scott Free since last Wednesday showing him our favorite town and a couple nice anchorages. Also discrediting the rumor that Mexico is unsafe one friend at a time. It is so funny how people ask us what special precautions they need to take or if it really is safe down here. So let's see, what are the top headlines on our local news media website: Axe-wielding man robs North Seattle convenience store; 5 arrested in Everett home invasion robbery; Bellevue man accused of killing wife with hatchet held on $1M bail and of course coverage of the tragedy of the slain teenager Trayvon Martin in Florida. I'm not sure it's safe to be in the States. These are just examples from local news and doesn't mention what has happened in the last couple days in other metro areas across the country.

Anyway, I digress. To say I'm looking forward to heading back down south where the wind is warm and the fish tacos are cheap is an understatement. My floating home awaits along with my wonderful husband who has survived on peanut butter on a spoon for almost 3 weeks.

The wedding is over and time here in the north lands is coming to an end. Scott's trip back to La Paz is booked for March 7th and I'll follow a couple weeks later after I finish up some work meetings and other necessary evils.

The wedding was wonderful, no disaster stories and the bride was beautiful. The kids are currently on a two week honeymoon in Hawaii.

We have accomplished a lot here in the 6 months we've been back in the Seattle area. We bought a foreclosure house and remodeled it from the drywall out, moved in which ended our 3 and a half years occupation of 2 storage units. We figure the expense of the Red House will be roughly what the storage units cost us a year. We won't be staying in the sea for summers as we've survived that war twice and don't feel the need to do it again. This little place will give us our own space and a nice spot to spend the summers seeing family and friends here.

We are now anxious to get back to our boat home and "nest" there again. Rod and Tucker kept a close eye on Scott Free, ran the engine and checked the bilge pumps, Louis and Fabio kept the bottom clean and other neighbors just made sure her waterline remained the same.

Yes, anxious, very anxious to get back home!

The last post was a week into our 3 weeks on the boat and now we've been back home for a week. Christmas is over, tomorrow is my birthday then it is New Years eve and 2012.

The time back in La Paz was fantastic, busy and lively, but wonderful! We saw and got caught up with many of our friends, missed a few who were out in the islands or other parts but really had a great time reinforcing why we love it down there. The boat is now tied up snuggly in her slip at Marina Palmira while we are back in the northwest spending time with families over the holidays, finishing up the Red House and preparing for Sarah's wedding February 18th.

The current plan has us returning to La Paz the end of February then heading out to spend time in the Sea until July where we will once again prepare the boat for hurricane season by stripping her down and leaving her tied up somewhere which is yet to be decided. The summer will have us focusing on the exterior and yard of the Red House. But, that is months from now so I will remain focused on the present which has us running between rain drops and skipping through puddles.

Hello Scott!
We found your message dated Nov. 29th 2010 on Elbow Cay Abaco the Bahamas. Will email a photo shortly. Hoping this is the same Scott, and that all is still well.
I read your message at the Garbonzo Bar which is operated by Sea Spray Resort and Marina today and we all had a good laugh over it!
Regards
Dan
