We’re heading out

Tomorrow morning we untie the dock lines and go out to the islands for a week. We've set the auto reply for the work emails, sent important parties the SSB email address should a crisis need adverting and stocked up with groceries.

This is Holy Week down here so the islands will be very crowded with Mexican tourists who have chartered boats. That is good/bad news. These Mexicans can PARTY and they don't seem to get started until we are in bed making the anchorages 24 hour clubs. That is why God created siestas!

Sunday we will celebrate that HE HAS RISEN!

We're headed tomorrow to Puerto Vallarta for 3 weeks of sun. We'll be on land instead of on a boat. After this long winter, we're ready for sun! Glad you're still enjoying your sailing.

Enjoy your time. Can't wait to get back to Thankful. Need to wax the hull and bottom paint then splash hopefully by May 17. We both lost money at the Casion today. I thing that they may be smarter then us?

Oh how grand it is to be back aboard my boat, sleeping in my own bed with my favorite pillow...and guy of course!

We had a great 5 days in San Jose del Cabo at Coral Baja. Scott left for the Capes as soon as Bob went to the airport and was kissing me hello at 1pm. We got caught up with each other after spending 3 weeks apart, swam, laid in the sun around the pool, sat in the hot tub, walked and just enjoyed being with each other. Sunday we caught the bus to La Paz, watched the Green Lantern in Spanish on the trip over and were climbing into a cab before we knew it. Back aboard the boat I was impressed with how nice and tidy it was; thanks Bob for cleaning your head and stateroom. It was instantly comfortable to be home. I do need to shop for groceries; seems there is only tequila, juice and two apples here! Tailhunters for dinner tonight~

Monday we walked to Lopez Marine store and then on to the Mega for groceries. $120 dollars/ $1440 pesos later we climbed into the cab for our $6.60 dlls $80 peso ride back to the boat. We put away groceries and then worked on patching up the dingy that had a cut in one of the the pontoons. After both Scott and I finished books we had in progress then I started dinner. Scott, missing my cooking, requested my chicken enchiladas and rice. He must have liked them as he came very close to eating it all!

Today, Tuesday, I had a work day, starting with the weekly conference call then doing computer work and emails until about 2. Oh don't feel bad for me, look at my office! We then walked up to the water park and back. Scott's surfed the internet and I started a new book. I'm about ready to start dinner which will be tostadas with chicken and beans. Scott has a fresh tequila and grapefruit in his hand; life is good!

I'm almost gone! I leave on a flight Tuesday morning down to Cabo where I'll meet up with Scott and enjoy a few days acclimating at the timeshare. From there we'll take the bus back to the boat in La Paz.

Scott has had our friend Bob onboard Scott Free since last Wednesday showing him our favorite town and a couple nice anchorages. Also discrediting the rumor that Mexico is unsafe one friend at a time. It is so funny how people ask us what special precautions they need to take or if it really is safe down here. So let's see, what are the top headlines on our local news media website: Axe-wielding man robs North Seattle convenience store; 5 arrested in Everett home invasion robbery; Bellevue man accused of killing wife with hatchet held on $1M bail and of course coverage of the tragedy of the slain teenager Trayvon Martin in Florida. I'm not sure it's safe to be in the States. These are just examples from local news and doesn't mention what has happened in the last couple days in other metro areas across the country.

Anyway, I digress. To say I'm looking forward to heading back down south where the wind is warm and the fish tacos are cheap is an understatement. My floating home awaits along with my wonderful husband who has survived on peanut butter on a spoon for almost 3 weeks.
