Spring in La Paz

We are still in La Paz. We did make it out for a week up to Isla San Francisco and San Everisto. We spent some good times getting caught up with Steve and Charlotte on Willful Simplicity and new friends Tom and Jeannie on Eagle as well as others.

The weather is heating up here predictably. We've had a couple of days into the 90's and I think today will be another one. We try to do the walking and physical chores early so we can take siestas or just lay low during the heat of the day. About 6 we climb in the dingy and go cruising about to help cool off and see what is happening around the marina and outside the breakwater.

Scott's sister, husband and their friends comes for a visit to La Paz next week. We'll take them out for day sails and tour them around our fair city showing them our favorite taco stand, trinket shop and other high points. After they leave my sister comes for a two week visit. After she leaves we'll have to figure out if we can go out for a while or if we'll need to return to Seattle. I may have some work that will require my presence in the NW. If that is the case we likely will pack it in early and head north. I'm really going to try and not have work keep me so pinned down next cruising season. Although I love being in La Paz and winter/spring here is great it would also be wonderful to be able to leave and be away out in the islands for a while.

Sorry there are no new photos. I forgot to pack the camera cord to upload photos.

Sounds great. we're heading north May 11 for the season. Small world in that we spent time in Aug. with jeannine & Tom at the Lats & Atts party at Sucia. They were "heading out" following the party!
We love you guys. See you in WA.

Tomorrow morning we untie the dock lines and go out to the islands for a week. We've set the auto reply for the work emails, sent important parties the SSB email address should a crisis need adverting and stocked up with groceries.

This is Holy Week down here so the islands will be very crowded with Mexican tourists who have chartered boats. That is good/bad news. These Mexicans can PARTY and they don't seem to get started until we are in bed making the anchorages 24 hour clubs. That is why God created siestas!

Sunday we will celebrate that HE HAS RISEN!

We're headed tomorrow to Puerto Vallarta for 3 weeks of sun. We'll be on land instead of on a boat. After this long winter, we're ready for sun! Glad you're still enjoying your sailing.

Enjoy your time. Can't wait to get back to Thankful. Need to wax the hull and bottom paint then splash hopefully by May 17. We both lost money at the Casion today. I thing that they may be smarter then us?

Oh how grand it is to be back aboard my boat, sleeping in my own bed with my favorite pillow...and guy of course!

We had a great 5 days in San Jose del Cabo at Coral Baja. Scott left for the Capes as soon as Bob went to the airport and was kissing me hello at 1pm. We got caught up with each other after spending 3 weeks apart, swam, laid in the sun around the pool, sat in the hot tub, walked and just enjoyed being with each other. Sunday we caught the bus to La Paz, watched the Green Lantern in Spanish on the trip over and were climbing into a cab before we knew it. Back aboard the boat I was impressed with how nice and tidy it was; thanks Bob for cleaning your head and stateroom. It was instantly comfortable to be home. I do need to shop for groceries; seems there is only tequila, juice and two apples here! Tailhunters for dinner tonight~

Monday we walked to Lopez Marine store and then on to the Mega for groceries. $120 dollars/ $1440 pesos later we climbed into the cab for our $6.60 dlls $80 peso ride back to the boat. We put away groceries and then worked on patching up the dingy that had a cut in one of the the pontoons. After both Scott and I finished books we had in progress then I started dinner. Scott, missing my cooking, requested my chicken enchiladas and rice. He must have liked them as he came very close to eating it all!

Today, Tuesday, I had a work day, starting with the weekly conference call then doing computer work and emails until about 2. Oh don't feel bad for me, look at my office! We then walked up to the water park and back. Scott's surfed the internet and I started a new book. I'm about ready to start dinner which will be tostadas with chicken and beans. Scott has a fresh tequila and grapefruit in his hand; life is good!
