One of the projects I had left is complete. The AIS system is up and working! 5 more projects left until we leave..

Testing the position updates via SSB

I'm just starting this blog after getting the boat ready for the past two months. Here's the list of projects completed so far:

1. Install solar panels (2 Kyocera 140s)
2. Fix bimini zipper
3. New dinghy
4. Fix outboard
5. Install Garmin 17n and wire to nav station
6. Run the existing Garmin 17n to the chart plotter
7. Get SSB working for weather fax and SailMail
8. Fix fwd head
9. New chain and new chain snubber
10. Integral sail cover and new lazy jacks installed
11. New sails bent on
12. Install weather system
13. Load the boat. I really underestimated this one..
14. Knee surgery


I'm in the middle of these projects:

1. Install 12v refrigeration (partially complete... currently the top project)
2. Install new water maker
3. Fix aft head (partially complete.. waiting on parts)
4. Install AIS (partially complete.. need to mount)
5. Install new zincs and lube the maxprop
6. Purchase and install wind generator (still researching)
7. Get all the bimini eisenglass installed

And finally major events until we head out:

1. Sydney's wedding
2. Celestial navigation class
3. Salty Dawg rally seminars
4. Boat show
