She's still pretty weak, but she's getting better daily. Yesterday afternoon when she first came home, she could barely move without shaking. Today she's much better. She even finally noticed the little dachshund across the channel and barked back at her.
The winds here are amazing: day before yesterday we had near gale northwest winds; this morning we had gale force easterly winds. Tomorrow morning when we're heading out, the forecast is for "wind variable 10 kt or less...becoming SW 10 kt late in the afternoon." That's just right for motor-sailing to Marina Del Rey.

Märzen gets to come home this afternoon. We have an appointment to pick her up and talk with the doctor at 12:30. Hurray!
Thursday evening John's Aunt Phyllis came to pick up Tom, and they took us out to dinner. Phyllis used to live in Oxnard on one of the canals very near where we're docked. It was fun to hear her stories about sailing in the Channel Islands. They really had some adventures.
Kevin's on his way to pick up John and take him to the USC v Stanford game. Because it will be a late night tonight and we'll need to leave early to make the run to Marina Del Rey (our next stop), we've decided to stay yet one more day here. Except for a big, cold wind storm yesterday, this has been a very pleasant harbor.

Good news. We got to visit with Märzen today for a few minutes. She's medicated and still on an IV, so she wasn't herself, but she was obviously very glad to see us. The doctor says she's doing really well but has to stay on the IV at least through tomorrow to give her pancreas a rest and ease the inflammation. They'll do another blood test tomorrow, and if it's as good as expected, we'll be able to bring her home Saturday afternoon.
