Marina Del Rey NO Sailing?

No Sailing in Marina Del Rey? Have you ever seen thin bouy "No Sailing"
It was some what confusing upon entering the entrance to Marina Del Rey, but actually it marked the in and out lanes for motor boats! The vast majority of the large entrance is FOR sailing. In fact everyone sails in and out of this marina which is the largest man made marina in the world. Once again as in Santa Barbara, and Alameda, the juniors were out in force all week end racing up and down the fairways.... here in Del Rey it was Sabots which have been around since I was a boy, and many of kids were good!. Junior sailing is alive and well in So Cal!
Moved on Monday and sailed across to Catalina. Catalina is one of the Channel Islands but is usually referred to separately because unlike the others it is well developed which is most likely because being a little farther south it is warmer and more convenient to LA. We are moored bow and stern in Two Harbors Isthmus cove. We met two other HA HA boats Camelot, and JasDip and we all had dinner aboard Camelot.
We plan to explore Catalina ashore today and move down to Avalon on Wednesday.
