Gorgeous 2nd Day!
02 May 2012 | Mackaye Harbor, Lopez Island, San Juan Islands
We left Des Moines (not Iowa) Marina this morning around 8 a.m. with great weather again, now 2 days in row. Light winds from the southwest let us motor sail quite a way through Puget Sound in the sun! Due to the weather we bypassed our intended stop in Port Ludlow and continued on across the Straits of Juan de Fuca to Mackaye Harbor on the south end of Lopez Island in the San Juan Islands where we are anchored for the night. The picture is of KC lounging in sun in the double hammock his brother gave us for Christmas, which we hung from the radar arch, while "Ray" our autopilot runs the boat! We look like southern ocean sailors with our tans from today.
