Even When It Rains

11 October 2012 | I love it here!
Posted by Hobo Rich
The rain stopped just long enough this morning to drop the kids off at the pier and for them to catch the bus, but it has been raining for most of the day. Rain isn't something that we had to deal with in the last 4yrs of living aboard in Mexico but it is something we will have to come to terms with and figure out how to live with or else all the voices that said we can't live aboard in Port San Luis could be proved right. We have our rain plan and gear in place, but it is one thing to plan for it and another to be shlepping around in the rain going to and from school, the grocery store, or to leave the boat. But so far on our first rain day, I love it. The colors of the clouds, the cleanness of the air, and the just childhood fun nature of hearing the rain drops pound on the deck above us. Of course the drip on Lori's pillow is a bit of a problem, but hey not everything can be perfect right?

I'm trying....I really am trying to find a negative but even on this rainy day, here I am looking out of our leaky pilot house window smiling form ear to ear at our view of the world. Cortez on the other hand looks a little sad with his matted hair and "why are you doing this to me look", but I'm sure he will get over it once I get our diesel heater installed. Now that I'm back from the Annapolis Boat Show, that is the No 1 item on my project list, at least until something breaks.
