Morning Surprise
26 October 2012 | Good Thing we Watch the Weather Daily!

The wind went from 5kts to 35kts in about 10 minutes this morning, so it was a good thing that Lori checks the weather forecast several times a day. She saw the blow coming, so we had the boat ready and secure. Since our mooring was pulled out of the water just yesterday and inspected, we were not concerned at all about the mooring. Our worry was instead focused on watching our dingy bounce around behind the boat. Our dingy painter that once looked sufficient, now looks way too small, so once this blow ends we will put a larger line on the dingy.
Even if we wanted to leave the boat at the moment, it would be foolish to try. The swell is up, white caps are everywhere and the best thing to do at the moment is to cancel our planed trip into town today based on the weather. I will need to pick up the kids at the bus stop in an hour and a half, so that will be interesting, just like living aboard. Today's weather interrupted my plan for the Part 2 post to "The Question", which in many ways seems fitting.
You may be thinking to yourself, "Lori sure doesn't look to happy or comfortable" and you would be right. In fact, honestly, today caps the end to a pretty hard week. I was gone last Wed-Monday, Lori had to spend a night off the boat due to rough weather, and with the stress of general life the only reason Lori didn't call it quits today was because she couldn't get off the boat and I just may have went with her!
