06 August 2009 | What's it like to enter the harbor, see for yourself

Today I took full advantage of the Marina's high speed internet connection and uploaded a short video post to Youtube. The clip was taken a few days ago as we were entering the Santa Rosilia Harbor. Looking for something to work on besides what I should be doing, which is editing the Baja Ha-ha DVD, I edited a few clips together with some music and comments, so that you can get a feel for what it's like to enter the harbor and get a look around the water front. Santa Rosilia is a real life working Mexican fishing town, so there are no "Norte Americano" style resorts or condos lining the harbor, you can see that in Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta! The look and feel of Santa Rosilia is authentic Mexico, which is a big reason we love it here!
The image quality on Youtube loses some of the detail, but we are shooting the film in High Definition.
If you like boating and cruising type music, then you will love the music of Mark Mulligan. I used one of his songs in the below clip and have his whole collection. He is based out of San Carlos, Mexico and is an outstanding singer/songwriter. His music can be bought on itunes and at his website Mark Mullian Home Page
We are taking this type of video and photos of all the anchorages and harbors that we visit with the intention of putting them all together in a cruising video guide for the Sea of Cortez. It's just another way to give a type "A" personality like me something to focus on and it might also add a few bucks one day to our cruising kitty, but above all, it's been fun, which is what cruising is all about at the end of the day.
