11/16/2009, blog posting error found and fixed
Well, now that I have internet again, I was checking our blog and found about 1/2 of my posts missing for the last few days. Well, they were not actually missing, they were just mistakenly dated to be posted in December rather than November. So I fixed the wrong date and they now appear below. So you have some catching up to do.
I'm digging through my photos now selecting the best for a little Photo Essay, so be sure to check back later today.

11/15/2009, potluck today, haul out on Wed
The Hidden Port Yacht Club hosts a area wide pot luck every Sunday. When we were last in Puerto Escondido in June, the gathering was a brunch to try and avoid the mid-afternoon heat, but now that the temperatures are pleasant all day, the brunch has been pushed back to 1530hrs and morphed into an early dinner. It will be fun to see all the cruisers later today and sample everyone's different recipes.
In addition to thinking about food all day long, great progress was made on scheduling our haul out to apply some new bottom paint. We will be pulled out on Wednesday which will give us plenty of time to get things ready for life on the hard for a few days. If all goes well, we should be back in the water Friday or Saturday, which will leave us plenty of time to make our appointment with a Turkey dinner in La Paz.
Lori went into the town of Loreto today along with Meri on SV Windfall to restock up on veggies and to find a few painting supplies, such a disposable rollers. In addition to a few basic supplies, she came back with a bag full of home made tamales, a special bonus from the Saturday flee market.
Almost for the entire summer, we have been having VHF radio issues. The radio worked fine when sending or receiving at short range, but was horrible for longer ranges. While in Santa Rosilia, I went up the mast to investigate and identified the problem when I traded out the mast-top antenna with a spare loaned to me by our friends on SV Totem. I'll buy a new antenna to replace Totem's spare when we make it down to La Paz and below are some photos of my trip up the mast.

11/14/2009, Puerto Escondido painted in Jimena Green
When we left the waiting room anchorage in Puerto Escondido on July 2nd the surrounding hills and mountains were mostly brown. Hurricane Jimena dropped close to 30 inches of rain on this area in a 12 hour period changing the surrounding hills and mountains from brown to every imaginable shade of green.
Our trip to Escondido from Isla Carmen today was a fabulous sail with all three sails flying in winds of 13 to 20kts pushing us up to and even exceeding our hull speed of 7.2kts.
The marina was closed today when we arrived, so arrangement for our hopeful haul out for new bottom paint will have to wait until Monday, but there's plenty of work to be done getting things ready including a trip to Loreto to buy some paint rollers.
Still no internet, so no photos yet, but hang in there, they are coming!
