She Cleans Up Well

Yesterday was a successful day; new blue bottom paint was applied and our friends on Just A Minute arrived just in time for us to invite ourselves aboard their boat for dinner, saving us from an evening on the boat in the yard. The final coat of paint will roll on this morning followed by a buffing of the hull and we are scheduled to splash back into the water Saturday afternoon. The whole crew is doing well and surviving the boat yard experience, although it is an odd feeling to be sleeping on the boat without any movement. (Continued...)

THIRD DAY on the Hard

I'm completely exhausted after just finishing sanding the bottom of THIRD DAY in preparations for new blue bottom paint. A toxic death cloud of old bottom paint dust was swirling around me all afternoon and I'm sure I cut 2-3 months off my life today from the toxic paint that made it through my dust mask. But the good news is that no "surprise problems" were found today and we are on track for splashing back into the water Friday afternoon. After asking Lori to give me some good drugs, I'm off now for a well deserved nap. (Continued...)

Well, we are just topping off our water tanks this morning and making the final preparations to have the boat pulled out of the water at 0900hrs in about 30 minutes. If all goes well (ha ha ha) we should be back in the water by either Friday or Saturday and continue south towards La Paz for our appointment with a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. Once we are saftely up on jack stands, I'll post a few photos of the haul out. If nothing else it's always exciting to see your boat, your home, lifted in the air. (Continued...)
