Left Buellton yesterday morning and camped last night at Fernwood Camp on Big Sur with my friends from Borrego Springs, the Fletcher's. A lot of fun was had:) They meet rels and friends there every year at this time.

Long hot drive from San Francisco north thru the valley but nice up here in Willits. It is an old lumber town and just a cool place to hang before heading up into the redwoods.

Think I will play some dobro then hit the bunk:)

Here we go again .. this is the first leg of the 2010 Great PacNW roadtrip and boondoggle (SOLD OUT). Great trip so far.. a fairly easy run thru helLA and a good time seeing my buddy Charlie McCoy in Buell-vang. The beer and tequila got away with us a bit but "sum nam na me" as the Thai's say. (My own fault). LOL. Heading up to Morro Bay then up Big Sur. May camp there or go into Santa Cruz. More to follow:)

Back in San Diego with a lot of news:

1. S/V Tiger has sold

2. I had a R total hip replacement 21JAN2010(the other done 9 yrs ago) and am R&R'ing here in San Diego. Had the surgery at Naval Hospital San Diego with a great surgeon and his team. Surgey went perfectly and have had no pain from the moment I opened my eyes in recovery. Am already on cane only and doing PT 3X/week. Doesn't get much better than this.

3. My near plans are as follows:

Mid APR: Rugby, VA for Wayne Henderson Music Festival

JUL - SEP: Back to the Pac NW to play music, travel and visit friends.

Late OCT: Nashville, TN for Resosummit then travel through Knoxville / Grainger / Washburn Counties visiting family on the Acuff side.

Will be looking for another sailboat upon my return with plans to fit her out and be ready to head south at some point.

Will be updating this blog as time goes by:)
