Got here late .. just in time for a wine then the bunk.
Has been a blast hanging with them -- down to Los Osos for music on Saturday then out to see my buddy John Andrew Parks, Louie Ortega and Bryan Lloyd play on Sunday. They opened for Paula Nelson, Willie's daughter.
Good linking up with John Andrew again .. haven't seen him since we played together in Fredericksburg TX a couple of years ago. Met his daughter Hila Lou who will be doing management for him and she is going to try to set up some gigs we can play as our paths cross.
May be playing in Cambia with those guys tonight, 28JUN .. should be a blast. I think I'm gonna be way outclassed but will give 'er hell.

Finally on the road after after trying to pack for 6 mos. Bear, two dobros and I are gone. Heading for our great friends, Jo Ann and Russ' in Paso Robles.
The trip from San Diego to Carpenteria was stop and go all the way .. not an auspicious beginning. Stopped to see my buddy Charlie McCoy in Buellton and see his two new puppies then dinner at Tres Roses . always good.

Have been here for about a week...one of my favorite towns on the OR coast.
My friends JoAnn and Russ came up from Paso Robles, CA to celebrate my birthday with me .. it was three days of fun, music, food, drink and, did I mention fun? We even have photos of JoAnn performing the hula:)
Have been playing music with my "Brother from another mother", Michael Dane at the Sea Hag , the last four evenings. This man is wall to wall talent with a heart the size of Oahu! I am always honored to be asked to sit in with him. The Sea Hag is a wonderful restaurant / lounge owned by my friends Clary and Jerome Grant. If you get anywhere near, stop in for dinner and / or drinks. Top notch! Tell them I sent you:)
Received my new Ivan Guernsey dobro / reso guitar today .. my b'day present to me. All I can say is: Incredible! I am a happy camper.
Heading south to Winchester Bay on Thursday for Cool Coastal Nights, a great car show and fun-filled weekend with my great friends the Bartrams.
A pace like this would kill a normal man ... that heavens I am extremely immature for my age! LOLOL
