Aaaargh! We be stormin'!
Made it this far and checked in to yet another little touch of paradise:)
This particular establishment provided pets at no additional charge but they tended to scurry out of sight when the lights came on. A quick nights snooze and on the road for Fredericksburg, TX.

We stopped by Harry and Margaret James' in Stringer, MS to check out my new custom dobro that Harry is building. Wonderful people -- Margaret even baked a cake for us. My guitar is almost finished and should ship to me next week -- a real beauty. Got to play a few of Harry's resos and they are indeed spectacular. He is a master builder.
Went on down to New Orleans and cruised the French Quarter -- got some good music and a fe cold beers then headed out Monday -- not much going on after the 3 day weekend but was fun anyway. I had not been there since 1978 and Jeff had never been there at all.
We are outta here:)

Your intrepid travellers spent the last day in Nashville (day before yesterday) on Broadway, working the great honkytonks. Found Crossroads and the Nashville Inn which about finished us. Great music, cold beers and good tequila!
Yesterday headed south on more of the beautiful Natchez Trace Parkway. Great travelling, little traffic and good speed. Highly recommend this route if you are ever in the area.
Arrived Meridian last night and, for our continuing attempts at frugality, were rewarded with a little jewel (fleabag) called Super Inn. I had been telling Jeff about the motels down in Pascagoula that are attached to bars and how we wanted to avoid those. Well, in the dark, we still ended up in one. Hourly rates and all. Even had some dirtbag knock on my door with his hook about 0100. When I told them to get the hell out of my area, he just wandered down the way to another door LOL. What a toilet! I am currently writing the lyrics to "Wrong Door Motel".
Today we go down to Stringer and Meet Harry and Margaret James about 1300. Harry is the luthier who is building my new custom dobro. This is very exciting for me and am really looking fwd to meeting them as we have become good friends over the process of building. Will have plenty of pics:)
