This Sunday Mexico elects a new President.

Because of this, they stop selling alcohol to locals tonight at midnight & do not start selling again until Monday. Tourists can buy something to drink at a restaurant or bar, but can't buy any in stores. So - today - everyone is buying up all the beer on the Island. Ha! We have been told there are people that go a little crazy because they can't buy their beer. REALLY??!! This should be an interesting weekend.

Well. . . . . . . I suppose the need for one's supply of beer would depend upon the size of glass , OR rifles OR whatever vessel one uses if one drinks beer with Tequila! Know anyone? Have a well-lubricated week-end! Remember it is important to stay HYDRATED in the heat!

Our internet has been down due to a lighting strike at our marina from tropical storm Debbie that fried their modem.
We will post again when when they get it fixed.

Never Never Land

You know when you look at an old person, what do you think, usually? They are old, right? What else would you think? If they thought they were seventy, then you find out they are 90, then you wouldn't think they were that old. Now that we've got the old from the outside covered, and the you-look-old concept in perspective, let me throw this at you. From the inside how old are you? When you look out at the world how old do you feel? Do you think when you are 80 you are going to think like you were 90? My guess, is no matter how old you get you always feel the same age inside. And whatever that age is, it's usually not old. Unless that's what you want. So it comes down once again to what you choose. And you always get to choose.

Nancy and I share a common feeling since we have been out at sea. From the inside looking out we see the world with a youthful perspective. Life is fun, exciting with few responsibilities. Here's the really cool part, are you ready for this? WE DON'T HAVE TO GROW UP!! While in Isla Mujeres we met some fellow mariners on a 42 ft sloop, Peter & Wendy and they told us we didn't have to grow up, we could see life like a child, an the only restrictions were the ones we placed on ourselves. Nancy and I have permission to be live in Never Never Land with all the lost boys and girls. And spiritually we live a life of bliss. Here is the disclaimer:When it becomes time to chart a course, prepare to get underway, handle the vessel in any sea condition and maintain course, be ever vigilant of possible danger, maintain finances and be connected in family matters, we are grownups.

Once the guys got past the leg show (very glam BTW) I was able to settle them down so I could read your message, and you now have 1 new applicant to the lost boys club - Dennis. Den is too cautious and Jane is too much of a worry wart. It is truly a wonderful way to approach life and look at the future . I have been thinking about it since reading it and I could sure take a lesson or two from the philosophy.

I LOVE this. I am always shocked when I realize how old I am. I still see and live my life like I'm 30. No wonder I like you guys so much! I will live in Never Land with you!

Here'a a video of the entrance to Puerto Aventuras marina, you will see just how scarry it is to get in and out.

approaching that entrance for the first time must be so heart-poundingly scary - but once though it, must give you such an incredible sense of accomplishment and "now I can do anything" feeling. Thanks for sharing!

just finished watching the Video - home movies extraordinare! Fascinated by the clarity and beauty of the water and underwater scenes in your dive. Formations are breath-taking. Great b-day shots. I'm a "big" person, where do I get a "M" like that? And for how long will I sleep? Nice touch with the Gillian movie.
Excellent narration by the way - - - singing - - - let me think about that.

we are weather trackers, and WHAT is going on in the Gulf? Hope you are safe and in a protected village/area/whatever. The maps showing up on our computers make conditions look potentially dangerous. Hope you are planning on staying put. and eating lots of tacos.. . . . and drinking lots of "big boy" M's. . . . and dancing the hootche, gooche. . . but hold off on the singing, please!

Do let all of us know that you will be sensible and safe!

All is well over here. It seems as if something is brewing on top of us, but that is a good thing. If it developed somewhere else & came here it would be another story. Lots of rain. 2 days worth! We have sunshine now! Yea!
just a little smile

As we sit nestled in our slip, the world seems to just go by. I guess that happens no matter what living room we sit in. If you just let it. There are so many different things we can do & Be to help one another & enjoy life. If we just sit & watch, we miss out on all the fun.

One of the easiest things to do is to share a smile. Maybe the person you are smiling at has misplaced his/hers. I have been there a couple times & when a perfect stranger gives me one of theirs, I remember to pass one of mine along.

Over here where there is a language barrier for most, it is so easy to see the Universal workings of a smile. We do stick out like sore thumbs here. Tall, tan, blonde............... Most people think we do not speak Spanish. So, if we want to instantly communicate - - - - - we smile!

Smiling is infectious; you catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner & someone saw me grin,
when he smiled I realized I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile then I realized its worth,
a single smile,
just like mine could travel round the earth!
So, it you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick &
get the WORLD infected.

Nancy this is just beautiful! We have a newly ordained priest (WAS an Episcopalian Minister), who saves "ideas" like this and works them into sermons. I will be proud to pass this on to him! Question - if I smile BIG in K.W. will I get picked up?????
06/18/2012 | Nancy
ABSOLUTELY!!!
This is a life changing experience. Oh how fortunate we are!

How true, I always try and smile and say thank you for a nice gesture like opening the door for me. Life is too short to have a sour attittude. Was just looking at the gallery of Chichen Itza again, what a great place, I took many of the same pics when we were there. Keep the posts coming, I so enjoy them. Sue

Great video, capturing the wild danger of the water. I never sailed through one that tough--can't imagine what Xkalk (sp) was like. Please, come home soon, preferably alive!
By the way, when I click on 'current position," it shows May 21....
