This Sunday Mexico elects a new President.
Because of this, they stop selling alcohol to locals tonight at midnight & do not start selling again until Monday. Tourists can buy something to drink at a restaurant or bar, but can't buy any in stores. So - today - everyone is buying up all the beer on the Island. Ha! We have been told there are people that go a little crazy because they can't buy their beer. REALLY??!! This should be an interesting weekend.

Never Never Land
You know when you look at an old person, what do you think, usually? They are old, right? What else would you think? If they thought they were seventy, then you find out they are 90, then you wouldn't think they were that old. Now that we've got the old from the outside covered, and the you-look-old concept in perspective, let me throw this at you. From the inside how old are you? When you look out at the world how old do you feel? Do you think when you are 80 you are going to think like you were 90? My guess, is no matter how old you get you always feel the same age inside. And whatever that age is, it's usually not old. Unless that's what you want. So it comes down once again to what you choose. And you always get to choose.
Nancy and I share a common feeling since we have been out at sea. From the inside looking out we see the world with a youthful perspective. Life is fun, exciting with few responsibilities. Here's the really cool part, are you ready for this? WE DON'T HAVE TO GROW UP!! While in Isla Mujeres we met some fellow mariners on a 42 ft sloop, Peter & Wendy and they told us we didn't have to grow up, we could see life like a child, an the only restrictions were the ones we placed on ourselves. Nancy and I have permission to be live in Never Never Land with all the lost boys and girls. And spiritually we live a life of bliss. Here is the disclaimer:When it becomes time to chart a course, prepare to get underway, handle the vessel in any sea condition and maintain course, be ever vigilant of possible danger, maintain finances and be connected in family matters, we are grownups.

As we sit nestled in our slip, the world seems to just go by. I guess that happens no matter what living room we sit in. If you just let it. There are so many different things we can do & Be to help one another & enjoy life. If we just sit & watch, we miss out on all the fun.
One of the easiest things to do is to share a smile. Maybe the person you are smiling at has misplaced his/hers. I have been there a couple times & when a perfect stranger gives me one of theirs, I remember to pass one of mine along.
Over here where there is a language barrier for most, it is so easy to see the Universal workings of a smile. We do stick out like sore thumbs here. Tall, tan, blonde............... Most people think we do not speak Spanish. So, if we want to instantly communicate - - - - - we smile!
Smiling is infectious; you catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner & someone saw me grin,
when he smiled I realized I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile then I realized its worth,
a single smile,
just like mine could travel round the earth!
So, it you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick &
get the WORLD infected.
