Historic District Mazatlan

We walked south down the Malecon and decided to head away from the coast to look for the town square. We saw the spires for the cathedral and followed the signs to the Centro. One block from the coast and we were on a quaint street with pastel colored homes with stained glass windows and wrought iron decorations. Shady and quiet, there was hardly anyone around and hardly any traffic. We wandered around and found a beautiful square with green trees and a few small restaurants. One bistro was preparing paella on the corner of their terrace. It looked fantastic so we decided to share a plate. It was really quiet nice sitting there with our glass of Sangria, listening to the wind blow through the trees. We though this was the best place to be in Mazatlan so far .
