Great but may not stay so
SANDY
October 25, 2012
Sitting in this wonderful harbor on a perfect fall day today, it is a bit of a stretch to imagine that there is a hurricane bearing down on this part of the US. The forecasters actually mentioned that the weather system coming from the west coast might just combine with one heading west in the Atlantic at about the same time as Sandy gets to the Mid Atlantic States area. The result is one forecast of a hurricane being combined into another perfect storm that would pump way high tides and winds into the bays of this area because one landfall prediction is for all that to happen at full moon and high tide. On top of that the Arctic air in the mix is actually causing some forecasts for snow, yup that’s right, snow for as far south as South Carolina. Wow, snow, hurricane and massive rain and snow all in the same storm. Naturally, we will be watching for a turn of Sandy toward the open North Atlantic.
