Unpredictable Spring stuff
Will It Ever Be Spring?
March 30, 2014
Ok,so why have there been no pictures last few postings? Simple, who wants to see 40 degree rain? It is fairly easy to put off retying the boat when the rain is flying horizontally, I did manage to get all the gear unloaded from the mobile storage unit today, but that is about all. The marina has been busy launching boats but today was one of those days when we saw exactly two other people. I mentioned how different marinas are on Sunday, but today was almost post apocalyptic. Our sailmaker told us they folded spring up and put it back in the basement.

Today promises to be a good one with mild temps and clear skies. We are putting Why Knot right as she sits in the slip. In other words, we don't look like a tramp ship now that the dock lines and decks are clear. After some maintenance on the old iron genny, we will start it for the first time in six months. I can just hear the friction in the cylinders not washed by oil for that time. It is a time when the most damage occurs- the initial start.
Bear did a real number on me this morning for April Fools day. I wont detail the joke but it had my blood pressure and also Scurvs up to red line. I can't wait for next April Fools day.
We are expecting guests this weekend. Some Texas friends bought a trawler and have yet to spend any time aboard it. Could it be the fact that until yesterday, it was covered with ice and snow? The boat is at the northernmost end of the Chesapeake and still on stands. They may locate it near here when it finally swims.
More later. Scurv and Bear are down for their first naps and I am encouraged to keep it quiet. Guess I will mosey topside and start cleaning---- or not.
