Still no power but closer maybe.

Well, it's another day with more projects. We try and get them at least started before the heat of the day gets unbearable. Diana placed a Skype call to her sister while I ferried two jerry cans of diesel from another boat. He's selling it and wants to get rid of the diesel he has not only in the jerry cans but some of what is in his tanks. So far, we have taken about 5 cans of fuel. About 31 gallons. We'd already bought some at the fuel station where the ferry docks. There are no close places to get fuel here at the marina. A bit strange to have a marina with no source of fuel close by.
Once Tracy was done with her call, we pulled out our syphon device and moved the fuel from one tank to another. Doesn't take long with the "Super Syphon" and doesn't make much of a mess on deck. Once done, we started in on the electrical problem.
For those that have been reading our posts, ever since we pulled into the marina, we haven't been able to use their power. We keep getting a "Reverse Polarity" reading on our circuit panel in the boat. We had the marina electrician look at it and he hasn't a clue. I've move the three wires(Ground, Hot, and Neutral) all to different places on the plug with no success. I keep getting the "Reverse Polarity" reading. I went over to one of our friends boats(the guy selling us his fuel) and had him check his electrical system with a special plug I have that shows if it's wired properly. While mine shows as "Hot/Ground Reverse", his comes back as "Hot/ Neutral Reversed". His step-down transformer is working just fine. My docks power reads differently that his dock. Something isn't wired quite right. I've tried just about every configuration I can all with the same reading on my tester. We may have to change docks.
By the time we finished with trying to get the electrical straightened out, the Sun had come out and even with some high hazy clouds, it was getting quite hot. Tracy made up a lunch of Chicken, Garbonzo Beans, garlic, onion, chili flakes, curry and a couple more ingredient. Tasted just great. Now, I'm up at the club house with fans all around me and the sliding glass doors open letting in the nice breeze.
Tonight, it something I've been trying to arrange for quite some time, all over the Pacific and even back in the US. We're having a "Flare Night". Everyone is bringing their old and some new flares to the gathering and we will set them off learning what works and what doesn't. I have flares that are so old that they don't even have an expiration date stamped on them. All this is followed by a 50th Anniversary Party at one of the boats marking it's 50th anniversary of when it was built. It's going to be a busy night.
Tomorrow, we are heading back into Davao and seeing the Chiropractor again. While I'm better, I'm not there yet. Plan on hitting a hardware store while there to find the crimp on wire connectors. We will see how that goes.
Out picture today is of one of the small "taxis" that zip around town. Ours yesterday held 14 people and we were crammed to the gills. Cost for the several mile journey? Just 20 pesos or about 46 cents for the two of us. a great bargain.
