Trying to get fuel in Carriacou

We finally launched Puff so we could scope out the "yacht club" over in Tyrrel Bay. It's where we were to get out duty free diesel for Zephyr. Regular price is $12.50EC per Imperial gallon or $4.70US. Duty Free is $8.50EC or $3.14US. A decent discount all things considered. BUT, here's the problem. 1-- they are out of diesel fuel at this time. 2-- it's due in today(maybe with no promise of a time. 3--they are only getting about 500 gallons as that's their allotment. Customs controls how much they get and there are lots of boats waiting near the dock to load up. It's first come, first served till they run out. 4--We're not in Tyrrel Bay and would need to pull up the anchor and re-anchor there not knowing if we would actually get fuel and if they run out, they have to wait three days(minimum) to get more. Here's how their system was explained to us: they have tanks that will hold 3,000 gallons and they ideally want to keep them full but they have no idea how much is being sold so they have to guess when they put in their order. Several weeks ago, they made an estimate that they would sell 1,000 gallons before the next order showed(not knowing how much they would actually get. In this case they got just over 500 gallons but hadn't sold any of what they already had in their tanks so the extra fuel had to be pumped into drums for later transfer into their tanks--a real pain. They can't measure their tanks and place the order and get it the same day. Customs doesn't allow it. It's all a guessing game. 5--the fuel dock is right beside a big very shallow reef and really tricky to get in and out safely. A boat last week got caught in a sudden big blow and hit the dock damaging it and smashed into the fuel building nearly ripping it off the end of the dock. We like our boat and want to keep her safe so we've made the decision to pass on getting fuel. Our tanks are still about half full so there is no chance of us running out. we might save money but we have no idea how much fuel is up the rest of the chain of islands we hope to visit.
Tracy did some digging on the internet and found a chiropractor in Bequai, an island about 30 miles up north of here. When we launched Puff earlier today, I didn't have a problem getting her off the deck and into the water, nor getting the outboard motor mounted when Tracy lowered it. My problem came from just walking around on shore. The nerves in my right leg are seriously pissed at me and I could only walk for about 100 feet at best before having to stop and try and twist my back into a position that might lessen the discomfort I was feeling. We caught a bus to about ¾ of a mile of the "yacht club" where we had to get off the bus as they don't go all the way to the "club". It was a tough walk for me getting there. Once we checked out the fuel dock, Tracy made arrangements to get picked up by a cab and brought back. The bus cost $7.00EC or $2.60US. The cab was $35.00EC or $12.96US. Lots more than the bus but I didn't have that much walking to do so we got back to the Customs Dock in Hillsborough just fine. Back to Puff and back to Zephyr where we loaded her onto the deck. The only real problem I'm having is with my right leg and it's really pissed at me. Hopefully we can get that taken care of. Guess we will see in a few day. Right now, we just have to get to either Union Island or straight to Bequai so we can get new Simm cards so we can call and make the appointment for as soon as they can take me.
It's blowing quite well out side across the bay but our Rocna anchor is working quite well and we haven't move since we dropped it earlier in the week.
