The the beach

It was 95 yesterday!
Didn't think it could get hotter, but of course it can. Topped off at 95 yesterday! Add in the humidity and I'm just a sweating machine. You take a shower up at the main marina buildings and by the time you get back to the wonderfully air conditioned boat, you are just bathed in sweat all over again. Tracy found a way around that last night as late in the evening, she took her shower stuff and headed for the back deck and took a shower there using our hose. Nice cold water and just a few steps to come back on board. It's the first time she has gotten back not feeling like she needed to turn around and go back for a second shower.
We dawdled the boat yesterday morning before taking off for the beach we had found on the west side of the island back on Monday afternoon. We had lunch at the same restaurant--this time Stir fry chicken with cashew nuts. Tracy had sweet and sour chicken. Xander was having another bowl of curry with rice and Szonic was having prawns. A great meal. There is a whole line up of restaurants along the road next to the beach that depends on the nice resorts farther up the road for their clients. Each will send out a person to try and entice you in as you walk by--sounds like Mexico.
After lunch, we made our way south with the road winding around near the beach and then away from it. In and out, all along the coast. We finally found a nice place to stop just past one of the hotels that got damaged by the tsunami several years ago. It looks like it was just about to open when it got trashed. The beach is 17 kilometers long and probably not twenty people on it's entire length. Amazing sand but a problem with undertow so most swimmers either stay off it or go farther south where it's a bit safer. Xander and Szonic went plunging in without a care in the world, having a great time cooling off in the water. Well, probably not really cooling off as the water runs about 85 degrees here but water is still water.
Once they were done and de sanded, we headed back to the marina. With the temp being in the ninties, they were wiped out. Showers we in their future and then some rest. Xander is still suffering from jet lag even after 4 days of being here.
Today, off for the cooking class. We will be leaving here about 7am to get to the main market where our education begins. They will be leading us through the market explaining what each fruit and veggies it. It's going to be nice to know what the heck we have been looking at for the last few years.
Before we left, we did pump up Puff--our dinghy. Not sure we have solved the leak problem as she seemed a bit softer an hour later. I guess we will see. I did spray the patches we have put on and got no bubbles from the soapy water so they appear to be holding. Looks like it may be time for another search. I'm not calling in the priest yet for "last rights".
