In it goes

some Sun and some rain
The three of us(Behan from Totem, Tracy and myself) got on the bus this morning and took off for the chiropractor. We had appointments for about 1100 and the 0950 bus with just one transfer, gets us there at the right time. We all got snapped and cracked and left fairly decent with a bit of pain here and there and others relieved. We'll see how it goes over the next few days. Hopefully we will all stay properly aligned.
Once done, off to Cold Storage for a few more groceries. With some bags in hand, we split up with Behan heading for Danga City Mall to get a computer fixed and we headed for McDonalds for lunch and then back to the bus station to head back to the marina. As we sat at the station, the storm hit with lightening and thunder crashing all around us. It doesn't just rain here, it pours. Maybe for a short time and maybe for a couple of hours. We walked back to Zephyr with just a hint of rain falling around us.
Earlier in the day, before we left the marina, I'd checked with the manager to make arranglements for our outboard to be taken in for repairs--again! At least this time, we were better prepared and even had the gaskets. Last time, while we had the jets for the carburetor, we didn't have the gaskets. This time, when I came back from the US, I brought another set of jets as well as a set of seals so the job could be done right. When I left here for the US, the outboard had been working just fine. Now, the carbutetor was leaking. With luck, we will have it back later this week. Then, just to make sure it is working as it should, we'll pump up Puff(our dinghy) and motor around the marina bay.
Shortly after we got back, the manager and another worker showed up at Zephyr and took not only our motor but also took Totems outboard in as well. Theirs doesn't work at all. Again, probably a carburetor repair is probably in it's future.
Still haven't heard from the generator repair folks, so I sent them an email to see how it's coming along.
Tomorrow, Jamie off Totem is coming over to take the final measurements for out new genoa sail. We'll order it now and have it shipped toLangkawi and pick it up there. Langkawi is a duty free island an lots of cruisers have lots of thing shipped there to avoid Customs. Normally, as long as the outside of the box is marked "Yacht in Transit", Customs will pass it right through with no problems.
We're getting closer to getting out of here. Should be within the next few weeks. Let's hope so. It's time to get back on the road.
