Back at Yacht Haven

Bill/some Sun, some breeze
We got into AO Chalong about 1745 and dropped the anchor on the east side of the bay. About 25 boats were at anchor with us. We had a nice quiet evening watching shows in the cockpit. The forecast for the next day was for a good bit of wind coming out of the east. While the night was quiet, the next morning wasn't. We pulled up the anchor and were under way by 0800. As we rounded the headlands we got smacked by 20+ knot winds and 6 foot plus seas right on the bow. I made sure to tie the anchor down as it was bouncing as the boat rocked in the swells. Water was coming over the bow like a bad grade b movie and washing down the decks. We slowly made our way along the coast getting passed by speed boats taking tourists to PhiPhi Lei, the sight of the movie "the beach". As we continued along the coast, the wind stayed with us, right on the bow so we couldn't use our sails. In the end, it pretty much died off with most of the wind coming over the bow caused by our momentum.
We expect to be at Yacht Haven before 1400.
We arrived about 1330 and dropped the hook a bit closer to shore than last time. We tidied up poor Zephyr, launched Puff and took off for shore. I wanted to speak with the folks in the office as to how to handle Immigration and Customs. We've checked out of Thailand but not visited another country. Now we need to check back in. Their advise was to visit them in Ao Chalong and explain about our problem and that we need another months visa to get the repairs done. One thing we did find during our motor back was was that the small small oil leak we had a month ago has grown. Now we need to find it and get it stopped. I'm going through much too much oil every time we use the engine. If we are having work done, we might as well get it all done. So, tomorrow, we will pull all the oil soaked pads from under the engine, clean the engine as much as we can,put down new pads and run it for about 30 minutes and see where we are loosing oil. Hopefully that should show us where we need to get the seals or what ever it is fixed. Last time, it was the hoses from the engine to the oil filter and back. This time, well I guess we will see.
We met up with Bill on Solstice as he was cleaning the bottom of his dingy. He's already put the outboard motor we took in for service on it and it ran just fine. Before, it ran quite rough and would stall.
We are meeting up with Terry and Christine off Teka Nova, Bill off Solstice and Craig and Robyn off Gemeni V for dinner at PapaMomma. Its going to be good to everyone again. We've reserved a car for Monday and Tuesday to get all the supplies we need for the upcoming jobs.
