The spinnaker is up!

Bill Sunny and hot
The winds, what there are of them have continued and we are grateful for that. Maybe up to 8 knots on a gust. We both had easy sleeps last night as Zephyr ghosted along with winds off the stern starboard side. We kept all the sails up again--genoa, forestaysail and full main. With the winds so light, it hasn't been a problem. Currently at 07 40.664N 094 39.973E.
This morning at 0900, we rolled in the genoa and took down the forestaysail and pulled up the spinnaker again. This time, with a nice, though light, wind off the stern starboard, she flying just fine and our speeds have increased to about 5 knots. Yesterday, we did a total of 75 miles in 24 hours. Pretty pitiful but it beats nothing and at least it is in the right direction--west.
We sit in the cockpit tending the sheets to the spinnaker and watching the wind direction on our wind meter and watching our course on the chart plotter. We have a pass to go through tomorrow and we want to make sure we are on the right course to hit it properly. Some dolphins came by to visit a while ago, Stayed just a few minutes and then moved on. First we have seen.
Tracy made her Thai soup again today. We need to use up the fresh veggies while they are still good. These go bad out here in a few days, not weeks or even a week. It sure is great stuff and there is always enough left over for another bowl tomorrow.
With the weather and wind being so light, the kids have been doing fine. No frothing at the mouth for either of them and they are spending their days sleeping or eating. Typical cats. Night times are for playing and wandering around on deck but they even get bored with that and will spend time in the cockpit with us before heading back down the stairs for more food.
It's now 1830 and the spinnaker has been doused and the forestaysail pulled back up and the genoa un rolled. We are back to full sail for the night. Winds are now just about out of the North at 5 knots and we are moving along at 5 knots. New bottom paint has really helped keep our speed up and with the lack of wind, a blessing. I'll let you know how the night goes in the next post tomorrow. The photo I posted yesterday was of one of the water rivers we have been having. Less today, the farther we get from shore. Today, Snowshoe relaxing on deck. --------------060701070806070701030105--
