We were up early this AM to get ready for our fuel delivery. The truck was due at 0800. Jason had gone ashore and gotten all his cans set up and we followed him in. While I had showed one of the Customs folks our letter yesterday allowing us to get fuel as well as Yolo, he wanted a paper copy. I put in a call to Assad, our agent and he assured us he would fax the necessary paper work again. Shortly after I got to shore, the head Customs man said he no longer needed the permission paperwork as the man I showed the computer copy to finally told his boss he had seen it. He did still need a copy of our Documentation paperwork. I told him I would bring it back after getting the fuel on to Zephyr.
bout 0830 the truck showed up and we filled out two 5 gallon tanks and five more that Jason had let us borrow. Catamaran have lots more storage space than monohulls and he has lots of jerry cans for fuel. We got ours filled along withthe borrowed cans and headed back to get them emptied. Jason wanted to get them filled again for more fuel for his boat. He keeps his tanks filled and all his jerry cans too. By 1000, we were done and had even paid our "Harbor Fees of about $11.50 for the one night we spent on anchor in their bay. Anchors up and off we went. We had about 11 miles to go for tonight. A nice easy trip though since we were running along the side of the atoll that's exposed to the open ocean, we had some swell coming through rocking us from side to side. We dropped anchor about 1245 in a field of dead coral and when i later dove on it, found it wedged under a small block of coral. We were set for tonight. Yolo came in about 30 minutes later and dropped their anchor close by. We are having them over for drinks tonight. Tomorrow, off to another anchorage about 30 miles south east of here.
The picture I've attached is of the shore beside us. I know you can't tell, but the waves are about 5 feet high. Not going near them with our dinghy.
