Another night passes

Bill/ partly cloudy with some sprinkles
Another night has just about ended and we are still making our way west, at least sort of. Some times southwest, sometimes west and sometimes northwest. It's all what the wind will let us do. We still have over 1,000 miles to the Seychelles so we won't be hurrying. We just need to play the winds to get there. Not to far north and not to far south. We will be using what we have. Right now, we're doing just 2 knots going about due west. It's just after 0600 and a small squall just came through. I was on watch and Tracy came on deck to help get the sail set up(pulled in) as the wind grew. We also put up the side panels on the dodger to keep some of the expected rain out. A small squall was coming. In the dark, they aren't the easiest things to see. You watch to see where there are suddenly no stars. That's where the clouds are. Are they coming closer? Watch and wait. It may take some time but you will figure it out eventually as the winds will tell you.
It's now just about 0630 and the Sun is coming up. We are still heading west, slowly but still west. Sometime northwest and sometimes southwest but still west. Still over a 1,000 miles before we get there so there is no hurry. We are still trying to get a bit farther south to take advantage of the current that will help push us there. All in good time. The squall just passed as the Sun was coming up and I'm a bit damp from the rain. The seas are at about 1 meter so that's not to bad and I will dry eventually. Tracy went back to bed once the squall passed. We then pulled the Genoa back out but we are still only doing just under two knots. Not the fastest but it beats the no wind we had yesterday for a while. I'll update this post as the day progresses.
It's now Friday and we are steadily making our way west, at least sort of. Sometimes west and sometime southwest. Right now, southwest. Winds are at about 11 knots so we are moving along at about 5.6 knots toward the Seychelles. Skies are partly cloudy and the seas are at about a two foot swell. All is well.
